26/14 international
Today we went through the Milonga a vary of times to make sure all the moves were being performed correctly, using the right technique. We went through the rehearsal straight from the track with no support, so Rosaria could film the Milonga and re look back on the video for ourselves to pic out any faults.
My main faults that I picked out were that I needed to stop being so stiff on my upper body. Making sure all the movement was much more fluid especially on the lower part when using Hips due to a lot of the physical movement is about the rotation of the hips, stylising making it look girly and sophisticated.
We then went through each section perfecting the movement and timeing, after a variety of rehearsals for this piece, I felt a lot more confident for this piece after all the physical drilling.
Bollywood was then drilled due to a variety of transitions for this piece it makes it much more complicated, due to yourself needing to know the choreography and each transition.
The dynamics for this piece are sharp, fast and in relation with the musicality, therefore due to each individual been put into groups for different choreography this means that Time - management is extremely important because if one performer is out of time, then this will be noticed.
The Bollywood and Milonga are completely different styles as well as the dynamics both are fluid, however the Bollywood is much more emotional, fluid and sustained, yet the Milonga is very sharp, cheeky and faster up beat to the tempo.
My ultimate favourite is Bollywood I love performing this choreography as well as knowing and understanding the historical context.
